Demand and Capacity Management (DCM)

Aerospace-X (A-X) Demand and Capacity Management (DCM) aims to establish a harmonized, multi-tier demand and capacity management standard that integrates and maximizes the automation of information exchange among all supply chain partners.

Through a common standard that is easy to access, to understand and to follow, transparency and collaboration across all supply chain partners will be maximized and streamlined.

Low entry barriers in terms of implementation and operating cost as well as interoperability with existing IT-landscapes will ensure a high level of acceptance and adoption rate, which will be key to success.

Although DCM information will be cascaded up- and downstream in a multi-tier manner across different planning horizons, data security and sovereignty will always be respected and ensured.

A-X DCM aims to address challenges within strategic and tactical horizons. In the strategic horizon, our aim is to enable automated exchange of relevant high-level forecast information (e.g. Aircraft rate level) to provide demand indications for early capacity implications. In the tactical towards execution horizon, our focus is on demand cascading and capacity monitoring to identify and avoid capacity bottlenecks and overcapacities based on common planning transparency, supported by early warning functionalities.

By furthermore prioritizing and addressing the most relevant parts in terms of impact or volatility the value creation shall be maximized for the end-users.
