Circular Economy

Work package 4 pursues the vision of developing an open, data-driven ecosystem for the circular economy that connects material, component and data loops across the entire life cycle. This concept aims to maximise resource efficiency and sustainability while generating continuous business value.

The aim is to support the aviation industry in making informed decisions for a circular economy. This will be achieved by promoting common standards, sharing data between companies and ensuring transparency along the entire value chain. All stakeholders and regulatory requirements are taken into account throughout the entire life cycle. The aim is to provide the necessary product and case-related data and to develop concrete solutions for the reuse of components and material recycling, which are validated through tests on sample components.

The following solutions will be developed as part of work package 4:
  • Digital material and product passport: providing product and case-related data to effectively track and ensure compliance with sustainability targets and promote the circular economy
  • Decision support for the selection of a suitable circular strategy: Conducting a comprehensive analysis of the environmental impact as well as the legal and technical feasibility of different circular strategies
